Hello, students and families!
The MPES Library strives to create an active learning environment where students learn to be responsible users and producers of information, practice good digital citizenship and learn to make healthy media choices.
In addition, the MPES Library program is designed to develop a community of readers, who will continue to read for information and pleasure throughout their lives.
In the library program, we utilize parts of the Common Sense Media curriculum to introduce students to a variety of concepts of digital citizenship. Some concepts and topics covered at developmentally appropriate grades are: self-image & Identity, relationships & communication, digital footprint & reputation, cyberbullying, information literacy, copyright, internet safety, and privacy & security.
We also talk about books, enjoy book chats with visiting authors, create the school's morning show and much more.
Looking forward to another wonderful year!
