There were practically as many Eddie the Eagles as students at Increase Miller Elementary’s Kindergarten Orientation! Children hugged the little plushies as Principal Kerry Ford and Assistant Principal Dr. Michael Weschler shared the “ABC’s of Increase Miller” with families, adding even more to the sweetness to the experience.
“Kindergarten Visitation is a wonderful event for those families who can attend,” agree Katonah Elementary School Principal Cristy Harris and Meadow Pond Elementary School Principal Ashlyn Field. Each of the three elementary schools hosted a morning visit for their new kindergarteners and their families on August 28.
One of the highlights for children and adults was visiting the classroom and meeting the teachers for the first time.
At Increase Miller Elementary, a scavenger hunt led children around their classroom and into the shared wing space, freshly renovated with new flooring, ductwork, lighting and inviting spaces to sit.
From finding their names on their classroom bulletin boards to discovering the classroom library, Kindergarten Orientation helps students and families feel comfortable and confident for the year ahead!
